I now have one emerging shoot of 'Florigraze', and several of 'Arbrook' hay type perennial peanut that Rebecca Krassnoski kindly picked up for me and brought to Brittany's! Johnny told me that now vs. winter was an iffy time to propagate the rhizomes, so perhaps the week of cold stratification in my fridge helped. I've got high hopes of the hay types being a year round source of high protein feed for chickens and ducks, possibly people too, nest bedding and mulching and composting material while adding nitrogen to our soil.
