Very cool vertical gardening. I think I would close/cover the top, to reduce the evaporation in our climate. The aeration pipe in the middle could stick out.
But with vertical gardening, I always worry about consistent watering. I always wonder how the plants toward the top maintain enough water, without over-watering the lower plants in the process.

Plus I wonder where the drainage holes are...on the very bottom, or on the sides a few inches from the bottom as in my Water Wise Container Gardens?
