Michael Spinelli has harvested a lot of pods from this Cow Pea knowing that some of the blooms might have been cross pollinated by ants in his greenhouse with pollen from a Thai type long podded Vigna. He agreed it is a good gamble as Whippoorwill' was hyper-productive, we wonder if maybe we might get some long podded hybrids of it. I think I see him in October at Brittany's permaculture event to get them then. In the meantime I will order pure strain 'Whippoorwill' to try next summer too. I'm also going to look at various white seeded Field Acre peas like I ate canned when I was a vegan in the 70s.
